Our primary goal is to provide premium testing, coaching, and fitting services. However, those services are expensive and time consuming. One complete bike fitting can take over 3 hours in the Lab, with additional time for setup, prep, cleanup, report writing, shopping, etc. You can see that the prices we charge really don't cover the entire cost of providing such high quality services. Income from selling high quality bike, triathlon, and sports products help us support our testing and fitting services.
HOWDO WE CHOOSE OUR PRODUCTS?
First, we search the world for unique, high quality bike and triathlon products. We look for products that will truly improve both performance and comfort in your cycling, swimming, or running - and won't be found in the typical bike or sports store. Then, we try the products ourselves - in training and competition; if they don't meet our standards for quality, user-friendliness, and aesthetics, we don't sell them - it's that simple. All our products can be found in our shop in Herndon; many are available in our ONLINE STORE.
FIT-CENTRIC: Our approach to selling HIGH QUALITY TRIATHLON AND ROAD BIKES
Buying a bike - for recreation, training, or racing - can be a major purchase. Yet most buyers go into a typical, mass-market bike shop and merely hope that a salesperson will show them the bike that fits best. Unfortunately, bike salespeople can be like car salespeople - more interested in getting a bike off the "lot" than matching the needs of the buyer. FIT-CENTRIC means we find your perfect riding position using our fully-adjustable Fitmaster bike; then we can find (or have custom made) a bike that will fit you from the start, without expensive part changes or - even worse - potential injuries.
FIT-CENTRIC means we look for the BEST BIKE SOLUTION for you, within your budget. If that solution can be a mass-market bike, we'll tell you so. If your body would work better with a Custom-Fit bike, we can offer high quality frames and customize the drive train and parts to accommodate your size, strength, and riding style. Finally, if you want a truly custom bike experience - or your body just doesn't fit the standard frames - we offer Custom Frames from GURU Cycles...each one hand-built around your body and it's specifications.
